A Separate Business Wallet: Why Split It from Your Personal Wallet, and How

Many small sellers receive customer payments on the same wallet they use personally. Over time it's hard to tell which EGP 1,250 belonged to which order. The simple fix is a separate business wallet: a number used only for customer money.

Why a separate business wallet matters

A quick example

Mixed wallet: EGP 250 and 1,250 from customers, 300 from your brother, 500 sent to family. You must sort it by hand. Separate wallet: only the 250 and 1,250 appear, both confirmed. Sales today: EGP 1,500.

How to separate

  1. Get a SIM for business and open a wallet on it (Vodafone Cash, Etisalat Cash, Orange Cash or WE Pay); link InstaPay to the bank account you'll receive on if needed.
  2. Put it in the collection phone.
  3. In Daffaa, open Lines → Add Line, enter the number, a clear label, the device and SIM slot (full steps).
  4. Add its payment methods and enable "Show on payment link".
  5. Pause the old personal line or hide it from the payment link.
  6. Send a small test transfer (EGP 10).

Move customers over

Update your bio and message templates, tell repeat customers, keep the old number briefly and review its transfers manually, and share your payment link rather than a raw number.

Mistakes to avoid

Don't spend from the business wallet all day, don't give the number to friends, and reconcile it weekly (how). Read cash flow for small sellers, then sign up and add your business line.
